My concept for Prism, a turn-based, story-driven RPG. In a world full of magic and color, a force called the Grey threatens to drain it all away. In this fantasy RPG, you play as Onyx along with his childhood friend Aurora to stop the Grey before all the color of their world disappears.

The art direction follows a magical, dreamlike aesthetic, rendered in a painterly style where the texture of the brush strokes are prominent. The color palette includes a lot of pastels, primarily pinks, purples, and blues.

Background Design

The characters are animals with fantastical quirks that make them stand out from each other (wings, antlers, glowing fur, etc.). I decided to keep the art style and proportions more simplistic for them.

Props: Nightshade Dagger, Item chest

Weapons, tools, and items follow the same design philosophy as the character designs where they have different quirks. For example, the Nightshade Dagger has a chance of poisoning enemies while in combat.
